Ingredients

Batter for french toast

  • 2 or 3 tbsp milk
  • ½
    orange (squeezed)
  • 2 tsp brown sugar (or any other sugar, including vanilla sugar)

Fillings and toppings:

  • 2 cups of fruit (blueberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches…)
  • 8 tbsp nutella or cream cheese
  • 8 slices of toast bread
  • some caster sugar or brown sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  • Whisk two eggs and add 2 or 3 tablespoons of milk and fresh orange juice of one half of orange.
  • Add some sugar, two teaspoons or so. You can use vanilla sugar, brown or white sugar, whatever you like.
  • Take the slices of bread and remove the brown edges with a knife.
  • Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread.
  • Spread nutella or cream cheese on the whole slice.
  • Now is the time to turn the heat on and put some oil or butter in your pan.
  • Place the fruit pieces only on one side of the bread so you can roll it. Don’t forget to chop the fruits if they are too big.
  • When the pan is hot enough, dip one roll into the egg mixture and make sure it is soaked on all sides.
  • Fry the rolls at medium heat for no more than 3 min at each side.
  • Coat the rolls with caster sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar, whatever you like.
